Props questions

Post by bjindrich »

Lets say there is a movable platform, which would normally be flat on the field and wheeled around. But later in the show, the platform was angled up, to be about halfway between being horizontal and vertical. I haven't had to put props on the field before, but it looks like it's not too hard to add horizontal props (Iike tarps) and vertical props (like panels, backdrops, etc.). Is there an easy way to add a flat prop that is angled at about a 45 degree angle?

Also, the props I need to work with this year are 3 dimensional. Are 3D props easy to add?

thanks in advance!

Hi bjindrich,

There is currently no way to angle props the way you are asking about; props always stay flat to the ground (for now). The existing props are all 3D, but they are limited to being rectangular prisms. So you can make a backdrop panel, or a cube, but you can't have additional 3D models beyond the ones that already exist in the software (e.g. Pit equipment). There is one additional mode of props, and that's cutout mode. It allows you to take an image with an alpha channel (transparent layer) and have EnVision cut-out the transparent section. These are all on a 2D plane, but you can get a wide variety of effects out of it including angled props if you like.

Try this one as a quick example:
