Is there a keyboard shortcut to move the selected performers in 1 step increments, either left, right, front or back? The 4 arrow keys are a good candidate for this (and are what my former drill program used).
To me, the more keyboard shortcuts, the merrier, since mousing, pointing, clicking, dragging, etc. is slower and inefficient.
