Dot Sheet - understanding the colums

Post by bjindrich »

Quick questions on the the Dot Sheet:

- What is displayed in the RM column? EDIT: I see that this is the Rehearsal Mark

- Does the Cts In column always contain the same value as the Cts Out value of the previous row (page)? Or are there scenarios where these values are different? If so, what are these scenarios?

Hi bjindrich,

Yes RM=Rehearsal Mark, which is designed to work with the rehearsal marks on sheet music.

Yes the Counts-In and Counts-Out values are always the same. The idea is that there are different scenarios when (as a performer) you would need both the incoming counts and the outgoing counts for a set. For example when learning drill its often good to know how many counts it takes to get to a new set that you just learnt, but throughout the course of the season its more important to know how many counts you are about to take as you set up on a set.
