When I use Ctrl+A to select all performers the # Selected field in the left hand panel shows 0 selected, The value is correctly updated when I used other methods of selecting performers.

Good catch, thank you for the report. This should be fairly easy to fix. You can work around this issue right now by right clicking on the main work window. After that the count will update.
